Thailand: Day 2-Pt. 1

Sunday morning started early. It was the day we were the most excited for. Today was the day we ride elephants through the jungle, hike up to the Erawan waterfalls, and raft on hand crafted bamboo rafts. The pick-up from the hotel was at 7:15am. We didn’t have to wait as they were there at 7:15 on the DOT. It was a about 10 individuals packed into the van. An African American teacher from Seattle, her daughter, a white couple, two German fellas, the driver, us, and later on during the commute we picked up our tour guide.

I had no idea the drive to our destination would be a whole 3 hours long. Talking about uncomfortable. My fiancé didn’t seem to have an issue with that at all. She was knocked out as I literally had to catch her bobbing head with my head on multiple occasions. I was trying to save her from getting whiplash. After what seemingly took forever, we finally arrived at the Erawan waterfalls at about 10:30am. The tour guide lead us to the first waterfall where she told us to be back at 1pm for lunch. It was a beautiful site to see.

The water had an amazing blueish green tint to it. People from all walks of life were swimming and enjoying the fish that nibble on your feet. Chanel jumped right in and seemed to be having the time of her life. The fish continuously nibbled at her feet and she acted like it was a surprise every time. It only took me ONE time to have my feet nibbled on to realize I wasn’t feeling that part. Aftera about 15 minutes, we made our way up to the next waterfall where we took pictures and selfies. I took a photo of her looking at the waterfall and I told her “that’s the one right there”. She agreed. She made that one her cover photo on Facebook. Chanel cover

The next voyage was up a steep set of stairs that looked impossible to conquer. After making it to the top, we stopped to take more pictures. Another set of stairs appeared. We both looked at each other like “you sure you want to do this?”. We did it in humid, 90 degree weather. Afterward, I looked like I had dove head first into a pool of water. I was drenched. hike

By that time, it was time to start heading back for lunch. It began to rain heavily as we made our way to the lunch spot. During our walk, something appeared in my peripheral. It was a wild boar walking casually through the parking lot. Tripped me out. *inserts boar photo*boar

We were greeted with a cold bottle of water and a menu from the hole in the wall restaurant where only original Thai food is served. My fiancé and I both ordered chicken fried rice with a extra side of grilled chicken.
